This One's For Teresa

So I'm finally getting on here to blog. Hope you're happy now! Thanks Cathy, for finishing my 25 random things...I did come up with a few other things, but they're gone now. It's my old timer's kicking in.

I really have nothing new to say, but for you, Teresa, I will write.

Hmmmm...I have started Twilight yet again (#5 or 6). What the hell is up with that? I'm trying to wrap myself around a book project I want to try with my kids, and it seemed like a good place to start. Instead of thumbing through it, I got overcome with all things Edward and wound up reading until 2:00 this morning....I do love me some Edward, I do.

And the snow? Ugh. Give me spring--and soon. I won't take this crap in March.

Over and out.

Twenty-Five Random Things About Me

Please don't shun me for my almost complete honesty.

1.) I pick my nose all the time.
2.) I love to fart in front of my family--not my husband's family,
but truly, everyone else in my immediate and extended family.
3.) My daughters, Damon and Phoebe, made me sign a farting contract
wherein I am only allowed so many public farts per day.
4.) I keep tweezers in my car so I can pluck my eyebrows and my
chin hairs. I try to keep my facial hair situation immaculate.
5.) I have self-edited number five, as it pertains to yet another
bodily function that you REALLY don't want to read about.
6.) I am easily distracted.
7.) I am a stacker and a restacker. It's what I do.
8.) My absolute favorite restaurant of all-time, ever, is Glasgow's
in Bentonville. Get the 1(or 2) enchilada dinner (it comes
with refried beans and rice)--ask for extra red sauce, while
you're at it, and go for the roll instead of the chips. Order
quacamole for an appetizer, and load up on it with chips and
their homemade salsa. To die for. People either love
Glasgow's or they hate it. I'm a lover, not a hater.
9.) I apparantly have the best bowels ever. I eat tons of fiber.
I hope it pays off someday. It sure does drive my family nuts.
10.) I love to read to my kids. It is my favorite time I spend with
them.
11.) My husband is pretty sexy. And on top of that, I love him!
12.) I love dog licks. Furthermore, I let my lab Rosie lick my
mouth every morning like a dog in the wild does (so the mama
dog will regurgitate food into her pup's mouth--then I go
get her food). It's sick, I know. Again, lover, not a hater.
13.) I was obsessed with Mimi's Cafe Chocolate Pecan Pie. They no
longer have it, and yes, I googled it, looking for the recipe.
I wouldn't eat it there, though. I had to take it home,
refrigerate it, and then eat it cold for breakfast the next
three days. Mmmmm, yummy!
14.) I continue to be obsessed with everything Twilight. WHY did
this book make me this way? Really, what is it?
15.) Okay, so I can't think of 25 random things. I need a break.
I'll come back to this later.

Crazy Rant

This is a rant. Forgive my lack of organization. Is there such a thing as an exercise support group? Because if there is, I sure as hell need one. I mean really. What is wrong with me? After watching Oprah during "Ice Storm: 2009," I seriously wonder if I need to be on something called bioidentical hormones or something. I look like the rundown woman I saw who went on these things and within days she was totally back to her normal self. One of her symptoms before her new meds was that she no longer wanted to go to parties or see people. She was like a hermit. I think that could very well be me. I don't like making small talk with people when I don't feel like it--which is actually much of the time--especially outside of work and home. Does it count that I am BIG, and I mostly talk with SMALL PEOPLE? Anyhoodle, Crissy from "Three's Company" was telling me that she is on these things, and they are great. Well, since she AND Oprah (or Orfah, as my oldest daughter used to call her)brought all this to the surface, my hypochondria has kicked into gear, and I wonder if these bioidenticals or whatever would help me exercise, make small talk, dress nicely for Wal-Mart trips, yadda yadda yadda. These are in lieu of taking hormones, or estrogen, or whatever it is. Which brings me to my college biology teacher's first quiz: How do you make a hormone? (Imagine crickets chirping, the kid on the front row popping zits on his arm, finally some frantic pencil scratching, lots of erasing...)After the longest pause ever, Dr. Thornberry writes on the blackboard: Don't pay her. It was hysterical. Which brings me back to me. What is wrong with me? Why have I become such a slug? I used to work out 3-4 days a week, run, even teach aerobics? If three kids, a husband, and a job does this to me, I guess it's a good thing I don't have any more on my plate (read: that other baby I think I might miss out having); I'd probably be comatose.

Still Sitting Here

Still sitting here in my p.j.'s. This is getting bad. I have become a slug. Must get up. Must wipe slug trails from floors to bed to floors to bed. Running out of decent food. Ate last hidden hot dog on piece of half-eaten bread. Thighs and butt must measure 2 inches larger since the Great Ice Storm of 2009.

Carolyn's Conjuncture

Okay...so here's the deal. I love my Synonym Finder. My parents gave one to me when I got ready to go off to college. I still have it, and it's totally dog-eared and dagnasty (note to self: check to see if dagnasty is really a word), but I love it. So, anyhoodle, when I had to come up with a title for this thing, I pulled my trusty SF out and thumbed through the C's...and there it was: conjuncture, n. 1. circumstances, state of affairs, set of conditions; context, environment, total situation, status quo, Inf. the picture or whole picture, the story.

Thus ends my first blog. I'm spent. This long week of ice has sent me over the edge of new technology.
